Dean Koontz and Stephen King come up with some pretty amazing ideas, but Clive Barker has much better writing skill.
Clive Barker’s sentences are all amazingly well written and never become too pompous or casual. He is a master of the english language! However, he is mostly known for his gory and disturbing horror.
Weaveworld shows off his writing skill best and is pretty darn interesting too.
However, Stephen King and Dean Koontz have interesting ideas. Dean Koontz has interesting ideas and great pay off (though not always) but I find his main characters too bland and uninteresting (except Deucalion. Deucalion is amazing). Stephen King has great ideas, great characters, good build up but disappointing pay offs (I’m looking at you, Tommyknockers!)
Can we combine the good in these guys? Please? Since Clive Barker seems to be less interested in writing I need my fix!
